Stave Hill and Russia Dock Woodland
This is a scenic walk of just over an hour through the Rotherhithe area passing Stave Hill and the Russia Dock Woodland. This walk illustrates how the former Surrey Commercial Docks has been transformed by newly created woodland and park, housing developments and the use of existing docks and waterfronts. The Surrey Commercial Docks operated in one form or another from 1696 to 1969. This walk also passes the Surrey Quays Shopping centre and the Canada Dock which is now known as Canada Water and has a shopping mall, cinema complex and a bus station. Stave Hill is an artificial mound which offers attractive views of London and canary wharf.
