Piccadilly & the Northern Quarter

This long urban walk of one and a half hours is an exploration of recent redevelopment north of the city centre along streets and canal towpaths in the Piccadilly and the Northern Quarter areas.  This walk passes the Ashton Canal and the Rochdale Canal.  There is some hyper-modern seating by the canal here which provides the best chance for a rest.  Look out for the change in style of the street name-plates, this shows that you are now in Manchester’s quirky Northern Quarter.  This contains the Manchester Craft Centre, here you can see craftspeople at work and buy unique and original works of art.  There is also a café for those wishing to take a break.
