Through The Centuries

This is an interesting urban walk of over an hour through the city centre, passing many interesting historical buildings along the way.  This walk passes St Anne’s Churchyard, and Manchester’s Hidden Gem, St Mary’s Catholic Church and also Manchester Cathedral which is largely Victorian, but there has been a church on the site since the Middle Ages.  There is also a statue of the American president Abraham Lincoln, in Lincoln Square.  This walk goes by Victoria Station with its original nineteenth century tiling and metal-work is in urgent need of restoration, but worth the diversion for a quick look inside
