Poplar Dock and Blackwall Basin

This walk is an opportunity to explore some of the old docks near the Canary and Wood Wharves of East London. Taking some of the quiet backstreets and pedestrian footpaths through Blackwall , this route will lead you down to this network of waterfronts. You can then walk around the Poplar Dock, now a marina, and into the connecting Blackwall Basin to see the colourful canal boats and houseboats moored there. Heading back you can walk between these two docks and West India Dock. A shorter alternative route is also highlighted.
