Downham Woodland Walk
This is an enjoyable walk of over an hour through the Southend area. The walk passes a picturesque pond and goes along the Downham Woodland Walk. This woodland is classed as ancient as it predates the Doomsday Book. This is a tranquil shady walk in a heavily urbanized area, which is a habitat to a variety of valuable wildlife amidst an urban environment. The park has a playground and a number of sports facilities, including, a nine-hole pitch and putt course, two football pitches and a BMX track. The park is patrolled by on-site park keepers.
