This city walk takes you to Hill Recreation Ground and goes past Marsh Lane and buildings of local interest.

Starts at:  Beechcroft Day Centre, 501 Slade Road, Erdington, Birmingham, B23 7JG

Route instructions;

[1] Come out of the centre and turn right to cross Reservoir Road. Go around to the right into Marsh Lane.

[2] Walk along the left hand side of the road and walk along the public footpath next to number 27, past four concrete bollards.

[3]  You will emerge onto Short Heath Road where you turn left. Go past Hailsham Road and enter Bleak Hill Recreation Ground under a green arch.

This lovely, tranquil expanse of verdant grass does not have any tarmac paths so you will need to head across the grass. Wheelchair users will need assistance to get across, but it is well worth the effort!

Head right to walk along the left hand side of the trees and metal handrails, with the babbling brook on your right.

[4] Pass the children’s play area and exit the park via another green arch. Turn left and walk along Streetly Road, past Edgware, Elstree and Barnet Roads. Return to the centre by crossing Marsh Lane and Reservoir Road using the pedestrian crossings. Pass the shops on Slade Road and then turn left into the drive to return to the starting point.
