[1] Leave the Centre and turn left onto Arden Road. At the end turn left into Fentham Road. Cross over at Fentham Autos and continue along the road. At the end turn right into Trinity Road. Once at the traffic lights cross over Witton Road with care.

[2] Continue along Trinity Road, crossing Beacon Road and then pass Birchfield Gospel Hall on the right. The ground of Aston Villa Football Club (A) can now be clearly seen.

(A)The Club started in 1874 and the team currently play in the English Premier League.
They won the European Cup in 1982 beating Bayern Munich 1.0. Aston Villa has a proud and loyal following from its many fans.

[3] Pass the Aston Health Centre on the left. There are toilets available here if needed.
Continue along Trinity Road as it bends around to the right. At the corner opposite the football stadium by Nelson Road, cross over and enter Aston Hall Park. Walk up the slight incline to the beautiful gardens in front of the large house. There is access for wheelchair users and the steps can be avoided.

(B)Aston Hall was built in 1618 and is currently owned by the Holte family. It is a Jacobean style mansion having undergone substantial refurbishment n the past 3 years. In 1643 the building was badly damaged by Parliamentary troops. There is still evidence of a cannonball flying through a window smashing into the staircase. The Hall is open to the public and entry is free of charge.

[4] Having walked around the gardens (noting the headless statue!). Exit the same way you came in. Walk back along the avenue of trees and again onto the Trinity Road. Retrace your steps via Trinity Road and Fentham Road back to the beginning at Arden Road.
