the railway and around the outskirts of Swindon town centre, before returning along the
path of the former North Wilts canal. Note this route involves using a subway.

This walk takes you from the medieval part of town to where it expanded westwards and uphill. Along the way you’ll see some of Sheffield’s most famous buildings; the cathedral where you start and finish, the oldest brick building in Sheffield – Old Bank House – the city hall, City Museum and parts of the University of Sheffield.
