Walk to Work this week
Are you looking for inspiration to do more walking? This week is national Walk to Work Week where people will be challenged to make more journeys on foot to improve their health, fitness and mental wellbeing.
The beauty of walking is that it is simple to fit into your daily lifestyle and 30 minutes 5 times a week is all you need to do to improve your health. This means that a short walk at lunchtime, a walk to the shops or walking all or part of the way to work can make a difference to your health and make you feel great!
The Walk to Work initiative is run by Living Streets which has set up the challenge for individuals and workplaces to take part in to see who can walk the furthest. You can register yourself or your place of work at http://www.mylivingstreets.org.uk/
And if you enjoy walking to work why not sign up to the Get Walking Keep Walking 12 week plan, My Get Walking, and see how you improve over 12 weeks. You can also visit the in my area site to see what led walks are happening near you.
There are hundreds of led walks taking place this weekend across Great Britain as part of the Ramblers Get Walking Day.
