Move It Week! (Monday 5th – Sunday 11th July)

If you’re worried your children may be overweight and you’re not sure how to tackle it, Move it Week may well offer the support and advice you need. Launched by MEND (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition, Do it!), to encourage more children and their families to get active together, the week promises to be full of fun-packed physical activities across the UK.

With an estimated three million overweight and obese children in the UK, childhood obesity is one of our most serious health problems. Not only is it damaging our children’s health and quality of life, it also has huge financial implications for the NHS. To raise awareness, MEND and the National Obesity Forum have joined forces to launch National Childhood Obesity Week, in which Move it Week plays a vital role.

Encouraging children to keep fit and healthy through walking is at the heart of Get Walking, and we are  proud to support Move it Week and National Childhood Obesity Week.
