Local lecturer and TV presenter John Grundy, famous for Grundy’s Wonders, will get Get Walking Keep Walking off to a great start in Derwentside with a local history walk.  Join us at 11am on Saturday 23rd July on a two mile walk around Consett to learn about Derwentside’s industrial past.  As John says ‘There’s no better way to learn about your local area than getting out on your own two feet and walking around it.  Bring the kids or the grandkids and you can all learn together.  And it’s good for you too!’

Meet at Blackhill and Consett Park car park, Blackhill, Consett, DH8 5TA.  The park lodge will be open for refreshments and there’ll be information available about short walks in Derwentside and Co. Durham.  Just show up on the day, everyone is welcome but if you’d like to know more contact Marianne on 07557119497 or marianne.patterson@ramblers.org.uk
