Wayside Community Centre, Clapton

In 2008 our East London project ran a successful walking programme with the Wayside Community Centre in Clapton in the London Borough of Hackney. The programme was run in conjuction with the centre’s over-50s group, with Get Walking volunteers providing special short routes to fit the group’s needs. It ran as part of their normal schedule of events, with help given by our staff to sustain the activity after the completion of the 12-week plan.

“It was very helpful and supportive to have regular contact with staff and volunteers. We are kept up to date with local information about further walks in the area” - Sister Jean John, founder of the centre.

Running led walks programmes is just part of what we can offer, get in touch to see how Get Walking can work with your group or organisation.
