Launch of “Light and Leisurely Led Walks” in Swindon
This Sunday (26th February) why not take part in the first short walk in the Light and Leisurely short walks programme. With hidden history, picturesque parks and waterside wanders on offer they are hoping to entice Swindoners to get outside, get healthy and discover a different side to their town.
The “light and leisurely” Sunday walks are all 3-4 miles long, ideal for people who have been doing shorter health walks and are looking to stretch their legs a little further, or for those who want to enjoy a fun morning out with the family.
The walks will follow routes devised as part of ‘Get Walking Swindon’; a partnership between the Ramblers and Swindon Borough Council to produce interesting walking routes around the town and encourage more people to get walking.
The walks all begin at 10:30am and start at the following locations:
26th February Haydon Centre
25th March The Link Centre
29th April The Croft Centre
20th May The Pinetrees Centre (Swindon Walking Festival)
24th June Stratton Community Centre
29th July The Oasis

These Walks are ideal for those who wish to step up to the next level from the shorter Health Walks.
Each Walk is 3-4 miles long and takes about 1.5 hours walking through interesting local open spaces.
Join the group to see more of your town and meet new friends on the way.Comment by Grahame Lee on 15 March 2012 at 3:20 pm
