How Emma Saved Money
Emma from South London commutes to work near Oxford Circus. Her weekly travelcard cost her £36.80 for a journey that takes an hour by rail and Tube. She also worked out three times a week at her local leisure centre for around 70 minutes a time at a cost of £8.20 a week. But now she’s discovered walking, she simply buys a weekly season ticket to Victoria station for £25.90 and enjoys her 2.5km/1½-mile walk through Green Park to and from her office, which takes only 10 minutes longer than the Tube. She’s cancelled her gym membership as she’s now staying acvtive through walking instead.
